Dr. Motilal Raichand is a board certified comprehensive ophthalmologist and a retina specialist. He completed his retina/vitreous fellowship at the University of Illinois, Eye and Ear Infirmary in 1979. His interests include diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, retinal tears, ocular tumors, retinal vascular diseases and laser photocoagulation. He has extensive research and teaching experience and has more than 100 publications to his credit. He serves as a Clinical Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
He is a fellow of American Academy of Ophthalmology. He is also a member of the prestigious Retina Society. Other fellowships include fellowship of American College of Surgeons and International College of Surgeons.
He is happy to see patients who require general and comprehensive eye care as well as those with retinal diseases. He also provides diagnostic tests like retinal angiography and ultrasound studies of the eye in his office.
Dr. Sunil Raichand is a board certified comprehensive general ophthalmologist as well as a cornea specialist. He completed his undergraduate training at the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. He was then accepted to the Tufts University School of Medicine where he graduated in the top 10% of his class. He completed his internship at the University of Chicago and residency training in ophthalmology at Northwestern University. Dr. Raichand then completed a corneal external disease fellowship at the prestigious University of Washington Barnes-Jewish Hospital.
His interests include cataract surgery, corneal transplants, diabetic eye care, glaucoma, allergic eye disease, autoimmune eye disease, and inflammatory ocular conditions.
Dr. Raichand is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the American Medical Association.
